Wedding Photography FAQs

Here's answers to some of the most common questions that arise:

How do we book you?

You need to get in touch to check the date you want is free. You can do this by sending an enquiry or by phoning 07881 955525. I will book a free consultation with you to discuss your plans and create a firm quote. You then make the booking by signing the contract and paying a 25% deposit.

How much does it cost?

Prices start from £828 but a typical full day of photography and an album comes in around £1600-2000.

Do you offer packages?

I will create a package customised for your wedding. I don't offer set packages because everyone's budgets and requirements differ.

Do you work alone?

Normally yes - in fact I like it best if you just treat me as one of the guests. This enables me to melt into the background a bit better and capture the candid images I love to take. It does also depend on how many guests you have. If you have more than 120 guests then I may bring an assistant to help me with any formal shots you would like. You can also book a second photographer with me.

How many pictures will I get?

An average is between 40-100 images per hour. A typical full day produces around 500 images but this will vary.

Will my pictures be exactly like your examples?

Every wedding has different people, different locations and different lighting conditions so your pictures will be unique. I will apply my skill and experience to capture the best images I can on the day.

I am a documentary photographer which means my style is about taking candid images of the events as they unfold to tell a story of the day.

I specialise in Black and White images so there will be plenty of them in your album and you can have the entire wedding shot in Black and White if you wish.

Do I have to buy and album or prints?

You are under no obligation to buy any additional products.

Are there any restrictions on what I can do with the images?

Once paid for, they're yours to do whatever you want with for personal use. You can't sell them or use them for business.

What if I don't have a firm date but would like to book you?

You can still book me but the difference is that your deposit remains refundable until you give me a firm date. I do this because other couples will still be booking me for the period you are interested in.

However, because you have paid a deposit I will let you know about any bookings that are landing in the period you are interested in and give you the opportunity to book that date first. You'll need to confirm within 3 days of receiving notice of another booking.

My wedding date has changed - what happens?

If I am available on your new date, then I'll just change the booking.

If I am not available on the new date then I will see if any other photographers I know are available and put you in touch with them. Your deposit is not refundable.

Can I get my deposit back?

Normally, no as it is a non-refundable deposit.

The only instances where deposit is refunded are:

  1. Within 7 days of signing the contract.
  2. For a tentative booking where no firm date is given the deposit is refundable up until a date is agreed. The moment we agree a date then the deposit becomes non-refundable.

Can I pay by Credit Card?

Yes! If you pay by card rather than by bank transfer or cash there will be a small non-refundable fee of 3.5% of the total to cover the additional banking fees.

I accept:

Credit Card Logos

Are there any travel costs?

Any locations over 50 miles round trip from High Wycombe will incur reasonable travel costs which will be agreed in writing. Mileage within the UK is charged at 50p per mile.

For overseas locations or locations in the UK requiring an overnight stay then accommodation and travel fees may apply.

Can friends and family view and buy images?

The images will be accessible via a password protected online gallery. Images are free to download in high resolution and there is also the option to buy prints.

How long will Jeremy be at the wedding?

That's completely up to you. It is usual to book from the point of getting ready in the morning up until the speeches or first dance which is typically around 8-9 hours. The minimum booking is for 6 hours.

How long before we get to see the pictures?

Allow 4 weeks for post-processing of your images at busy times of the year. I will always get them to you as soon as possible.

At first, images will be shared on an online gallery that is private to the couple. From there images for the album(s) and print(s) can be chosen and any images you don't want on the gallery to share with family and friends can be removed.

If you want an express service of one or two images within 1 week of the wedding then this option is available for a fee of £50.

How does the process of designing and printing an album work?

I am a graphic designer so I design the layout of all of the albums by hand. There are lots of colours and designs to choose from so I will help guide that process.

You then simply pick the images you want from the online gallery of pictures. I then create a PDF proof of the album.

I use perhaps the best album producer in the UK called Loxely Colour. I send the finished design to them and they make the albums by hand and deliver them to an address of your choosing.

I am uncomfortable being photographed. Do I have to pose for pictures? What if I look terrible?

That's why you're hiring a professional, it's my job to help you relax in front of the camera.

During my time as a photographer I have also covered fashion and events so I'm used to photographing people and making them look good!

Most of the images I take will be natural, candid images during the day.

You won't look terrible :) I will photograph you from different angles which may seem unfamiliar as you are used to looking at yourself in a mirror. Just remember others see you from all these different angles and they will think you look great!

Are you insured?

Yes I have comprehensive public and professional indemnity insurance.

Do you photography location weddings overseas?

Yes I do - happy to go just about anywhere :)

In this instance travel fees for the days that I am away apply at a rate of £640 per day (£80 per hour in an 8 hour day) for away/travel days when I'm not photographing. Normal fees apply for photography.
